So, I bought spam for mid term storage.

I decided to try it out last weekend.

I found out something very important.

I can't stand the stuff. My stomach is still upset.

Sorry to hear that.
Spam is a prepper staple.

How did you cook it?

This would be a tragedy in my house!
My men LOVE the stuff.

I tried to cook it with my sunoven (and rice). Too cloudy to get a boil so I had to finish it with a micro.

Yeah, I know that would not be spam at it's best. But really, it was so fatty that it set my stomach acid going.

But, in a survival situation I won't mind eating it I'm sure.

If you're interested, I cut mine up julienne. (I think that's an oxymoron.) Next I fry in in my black cast iron skillet with a touch of canola oil spray to prevent sticking. I cook until it's crisp and much of the oil is rendered out. Then I add eggs and scramble them together. My men call it Camping Eggs.

I've also done this successfully on our Rocket Stove with just limbs from the backyard. (A Rocket Stove is my back up for my DYI solar oven.)

Try the DAK Ham in a can...its way tastier than spam bro.

I still do not like green eggs and spam.

I do not like them in a box.
I do not like them with a fox
I do not like them in a house
I do not like them with a mouse
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and spam.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

I have about 20 of those in my stockpile. They have a 5 year shelf life and cost about $3 at Wally World.

I plan on chopping mine up and adding it to any beans I'm cooking. With rice and some Cajun seasoning, we'll have a nice SHTF meal!

Ok, I'm going to get some of those DAK cans.

Meats are a big gap in my storage.

I'd end up being a vegan with what I have so far.

I used to LOVE Spam growing up lol

I cut it in very thin slices and fried them until they were crispy on the outside.

its way tastier than spam bro.

Noted...I shall try it.

Never heard of it before.

Lots of canned proteins available - sardines, tuna, salmon, bacon, spam, ham, chicken.
