Make sure your family has adequate food and water for an extended period of time. Decide the length of time your family may need to survive off your stockpile. One week, one month, 3,6 or even 12 months.
Make sure your home is in good repair. Keep up with that Honey Do list.
Lists are a preppers best friend! Start making a list of needed items. As money is available, begin purchasing and setting items back.
Grumpy, Funny you mentioned Ike. We learned from Katrina and Rita! Did you SEE the Porter Walmart in the days before Rita??? We (literally) got the LAST 12 pack of Charmin in the entire store. I swore, NEVER again! We were much more prepared for Ike. Sailed though 10 days without power without a worry!
