It's a common idea that during or after a collapse, a prepper can simply hunt for their protein. This is a good theory riddled with misconceptions.

What if you live in an urban or suburban area?
What if you're NOT an experienced hunter?
What about the other "hunters" with the same idea?
If you have your own property, bagging a deer can take days if not weeks.

A back up idea is to invest in small animal traps. We picked up a 2 in 1 set from our local Tractor Supply for less than $40. They can hold anything from rats and squirrels to racoons, opossums, and rabbits. Even in the suburbs, we have scores of squirrels and racoons roaming our streets.

Just make sure you know how to gut and clean the critters!
