LDS is offering several more items through their online store. You do NOT need to be an LDS church member to purchase and it's tax free. Just check out as a "guest" when making your purchase.

LDS ONLINE STORE

If you haven't stocked up on long-term food storage, this is a great place to start!
The prices are extremely reasonable.

Hello, I am new to this forum but I am interested in going to the LDS cannery in Houston. Do you happen to have the address?

HOUSTON BISHOP STOREHOUSE

HOUSTON, TX 77090-4412

Ask for Sister Fairchild. She and her husband run the Bishop's Storehouse; at least they did the last time I was there. They have health code rules and you'll probably have to can with another group on their schedule.

I just joined this site also to ask about the address and phone number for the LDS warehouse. I was pleasantly surprised that someone had already ask and the info I needed was already posted. One more question though. I want to pick up mylar bags and such. Do you have to have an appointment for that also? Has anybody compared prices with them vs ordering on Amazon? OH,also do you have to dress a certain way to pick up things such as the bags? I prefer to do a pick up so that I'm not adding to my cost by paying shipping charges.

Welcome Gman! Glad you're here.

One more question though. I want to pick up mylar bags and such. Do you have to have an appointment for that also?

No. Last time I was there, you could drop in and purchase: bulk, left-over packaged items, as well as mylars and O2s. Call ahead to make sure.

Do you have to have an appointment for that also?

The appointments are only to organize groups for canning. You're welcome to drop in for other purchases.

Has anybody compared prices with them vs ordering on Amazon?

I haven't checked in about a year, but the last time it did the prices were MUCH less than any other company! Even their online prices beat other companies! And because they're a church, it's tax free and they offer free shipping.

OH,also do you have to dress a certain way to pick up things such as the bags?

The only dress code I've experienced is while packing food because they must follow health codes. I was there packing once when a gentleman walked it in nice shorts, t-shirt, and tennis shoes to pick up some bulk items. Nothing was said to him about his clothing.

Again, you MIGHT want to call and ask Sister Fairchild if anything has changed!
