One of the questions we often get is” WHY”.

Every year we spend thousands of dollars on catastrophic insurance of one sort or another, yet no one ever asks why. We just fork it out year after year knowing full well that we most likely will never use it. Very few people ever have their homes burn down, have it destroyed by an earthquake or taken out by a flood. Most of us will never use that catastrophic personal accident insurance, but we still pay those premiums. And if you ask anyone “WHY?” they will tell you”, because that’s the responsible thing to do”. And they are right it is!!

Now why do we not take that same attitude with our day to day lives? How many of us had grandparents or great grandparents who canned food, grew gardens for self-reliance? Most of us I suspect.

What if someone told you you could have an insurance policy that if you never need it you could get back what you put into it? Well you can!! It’s called prepping. We spend thousands on insurance that we know we most likely will never use, why not have an insurance policy you can use if not needed.

What do you think the possibility is that the country will go back into a full depression like the one experienced during the early 20’s and the great depression of the 30’s? What is the difference between then and now? Well what is not different is that government spending is out of control! The difference is the amount of debt we now have. If we continue down this road it will be much more difficult to recover.

My point to this thread is this; Prepping is day to day life insurance. And the best part about it is you can use it whenever you want! Hopefully we will never need it, but instead use it on our own terms.

Thanks for the bump...I might be slow, but i am sure!

I am brand new to prepping but your words made so much sense that you had me at hello... i truly gained insight from that. Excellent points.

Being highly religious, that coincides with my personal belief system, even though designed for this temporal life which is what we are presently experiencing.

Christians have Life Assurance policies, why not also have what u wrote about too?

Although my philosophy is that our greatest interest in this life should be to secure an interest in the next, while we are here and remain we should plan ahead.

once again...

What do you think the possibility is that the country will go back into a full depression like the one experienced during the early 20’s and the great depression of the 30’s? What is the difference between then and now?

I think it is highly likely to occur and possibly sooner than most of us would expect.

It is getting plum scarey out there if u ax me.
